Opinions or other responses to polls are collected and are not identifiable to any particular website visitor. Akorn may use a system to "tag" website visitors after they have voted, so they can vote only once on a particular question. This tag is not correlated with information about individual website visitors and is delivered in the form of a cookie.
Akorn may occasionally send user surveys to improve and optimize content delivered to our website visitors. We sometimes share the collected demographic information in these surveys with our sponsors, advertisers and partners. We never share any of this information about specific individuals with any another company or individual.
Akorn tracks user traffic patterns throughout the Akorn website and all of our microsites. We do not correlate this information with data about individual website visitors. Akorn does analyze overall usage statistics according to a user's domain name, browser type, and MIME type by reading this information from the browser string (information contained in every website visitor's browser).
Akorn sometimes tracks and stores the search terms website visitors enter in our Search function, but this tracking is never associated with individual website visitors. We use tracking information to determine which areas of our sites website visitors like and don't like based on traffic to those areas.
